What the Mouse Test Online Measures

The tester displays browser mouse and pointer events for five buttons, wheel direction and pointer position. A highlighted button means the page received that button event; it does not verify the electrical switch itself.

Try each control separately. Side buttons may be intercepted by a browser or operating system before this page sees them.

How to Use the Mouse Test Online

  1. 1Move the pointer into the test area.
  2. 2Press and release each mouse button, including the wheel and side buttons.
  3. 3Scroll up and down inside the area and compare the direction shown.
  4. 4Repeat a control that appears to be missing, then try another browser or USB port.

How to Interpret the Result

A control that never appears may indicate a button, connection or browser mapping issue. Confirm the pattern over several attempts before drawing a conclusion.

If one deliberate press appears twice, use the Double Click Test. If the wheel reverses during a controlled movement, use the Scroll Test.

Troubleshooting a Missing Mouse Input

Start by checking whether the same button works outside the browser and whether the test area has focus. A browser may intercept back and forward buttons for navigation, so those controls deserve a second browser check. If the main button is absent on every attempt, try another connection or device before deciding what needs repair.

This page is best for confirming that an event reached the browser. It does not establish why an event is missing. A faulty switch, a driver mapping, a wireless connection interruption and browser behavior can look similar from inside a web page.

Browser Limitations

The browser cannot inspect switch contacts, device firmware or signals blocked by the operating system. Pointer position is a browser coordinate, not sensor precision. A passing result means the page received the tested events.

FAQ

Do I need to install software?

No. The test runs in this page without a download or account.

Can I test a wireless mouse?

Yes, if the browser receives its standard mouse events. The result cannot identify a wireless connection fault by itself.

Why does a side button leave the page?

Some browsers reserve back and forward buttons for navigation. Try another browser and avoid treating one missing event as a failed switch.
