What the CPS Test – Click Speed Online Measures
The target counts clicks delivered to the browser after the first target click starts the timer. CPS is the counted clicks divided by the elapsed test duration.
The score reflects both your clicking technique and browser input delivery. It is a speed metric, not a hardware health diagnosis.
How to Use the CPS Test – Click Speed Online
- 1Select a 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 second duration.
- 2Click the target to start; that first target click counts.
- 3Continue clicking until the timer ends.
- 4Read total clicks and CPS, then use Retry for another run.
How to Interpret the Result
A longer test shows sustained clicking better than a one-second burst. Compare repeated runs of the same duration rather than mixing scores from different test lengths.
If clicks appear missing, use the Mouse Test to check basic button events separately.
Burst Speed and Sustained Click Speed
A one-second CPS run captures a short burst, while 10, 30 or 60 seconds gives more time for fatigue and pacing to matter. Compare results only for the same selected duration and input method. The first click on the target begins the timer and is counted; the duration control and Retry button are not part of the score.
A high CPS score does not establish that every mouse control is healthy. For a suspected missing button event, use Mouse Test; for an unexpected pair of presses, use Double Click Test. This tool reports a count over time, not the physical reason for an unusual click pattern.
Browser Limitations
The page cannot distinguish every missed physical actuation from browser scheduling. Clicks after the timer expires should not count. Switching tabs interrupts fair comparison.
