Mouse & Keyboard Tests Online
Test your mouse and keyboard directly in your browser. Check buttons, polling rate, double clicks, scroll problems, key rollover, chatter and input timing without installing software.
InputMetric focuses on what a browser can actually observe. Live input events are displayed directly, calculated timing metrics are labeled as browser-observed values, and every diagnostic page explains its limits.
Choose a Mouse or Keyboard Test
Start with the symptom you are trying to check. A button problem, an unstable scroll wheel and a polling-rate question need focused tests.
Mouse Tests
Check left, right, middle, back and forward buttons, wheel input and pointer movement.
Polling Rate Test →Estimate the pointer-event rate your browser receives and review average, median, peak and variation.
Double Click Test →Look for unusually fast duplicate presses that may indicate unwanted double clicks.
Scroll Test →Check wheel direction and reverse events during controlled runs.
Drag Test →Watch for early button release, pointer cancellation and lost capture while dragging.
Keyboard Tests
Press every key and see whether the browser detects it on common layouts.
Ghosting / NKRO Test →Hold multiple keys together and inspect which events arrive at the same time.
Chatter Test →Detect unusually fast repeated presses that may match double typing.
Rapid Trigger Test →Compare browser-observed key-down, release and reset timing across repeated cycles.
Start With the Symptom
One click sometimes becomes two
Use slow, deliberate single presses to check whether unusually fast duplicate events repeat.
Double Click Test →The wheel reverses direction
Run an up-only or down-only test and look for opposite-direction wheel events.
Scroll Test →A key is missing
Check it alone first, then inspect simultaneous combinations if individual keys work.
Keyboard Test →A key types twice
Compare new presses with held-key auto-repeat using a repeatable, cautious diagnostic run.
Chatter Test →I want to check mouse Hz
Estimate the rate of pointer events observed by this browser during movement.
Polling Rate Test →What Browser-Based Input Tests Can Measure
A browser can directly observe a mouse button press, wheel event, pointer movement or keyboard event delivered to the page. InputMetric can display those events and calculate timing or frequency from them.
A web page cannot see every stage inside a device. USB firmware behavior, physical switch travel, operating-system scheduling and full end-to-end latency remain outside many browser tests. Calculated values are therefore labeled browser-observed rather than hardware measurements.

Interactive tests process input in the page. Keyboard tools track key state rather than a typed sentence, and core tests need no account. See the Privacy Policy for analytics and local storage details.
